Cairn does not run its own account system. Your thoughts, photos and voice
notes are stored only on your device. The only "account" involved is the one your optional
Cairn+ cloud backup uses — your Google account on Android, or your Apple Account's iCloud on
iPhone and iPad — and you are always in control of it.
Delete everything on your device
- Open Cairn.
- Go to More, and delete individual thoughts, or use Export a copy first if you want to keep a backup file.
- To remove all local data at once, uninstall the Cairn app from your device. This permanently deletes your thoughts, photos and voice notes stored on the device.
iPhone and iPad: delete your iCloud backup
On iPhone and iPad there is no sign-in. Cairn's cloud backup is saved to a private area of your own iCloud. To delete it:
- Open Cairn → More → Backup.
- Tap Delete backup from iCloud and confirm. This also turns automatic backup off.
If Cairn is no longer installed, open Settings → your name → iCloud → Storage (or Manage Storage), choose Cairn, and delete its data.
Android: disconnect your Google account (Cairn+ backup)
- Open Cairn → More → Account.
- Tap Sign out. This removes your account email, name and identifier from your device and stops future backups.
Android: delete your backup from Google Drive
Cairn's cloud backup is saved to your own Google Drive, in a location only your account can access. To delete it:
- Open the Google Drive app or website, signed in with the same account.
- Find the Cairn backup file (or the app-specific "Cairn" folder), and delete it.
- Empty your Drive trash to remove it permanently.

We do not operate a server that stores your content, so there is nothing on our end to separately delete once you've completed the steps above.
