Privacy Policy – GPSCamPro

1. Who we are

We operate the GPSCamPro Android application.

2. What data we collect and why

a) Camera

We access your device camera to capture photos. Photos are processed locally on your device. We do not upload your photos to any server.

b) Location (GPS)

We access your device's precise location (GPS coordinates, altitude) to stamp this information onto your photos. Location data is processed locally on your device and embedded in the captured image. We do not transmit your location to our servers. We collect location data only while the app is in use (foreground only). You can revoke location permission at any time in Android Settings.

c) Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

We use Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymous crash reports. These reports contain device model, Android version, app version, and a stack trace. They do not contain your name, email, or location data.

d) Analytics (Firebase Analytics)

We use Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) to understand how the app is used (e.g. which features are most used, how often photos are captured). No personally identifiable information is collected. Analytics data is associated with an anonymous Firebase installation ID.

e) Account (Firebase Authentication)

We create an anonymous Firebase account on your device on first launch. This is a technical identifier used to associate your Pro purchase with your device. It is not linked to your name or email unless you choose to sign in with Google.

f) Pro purchase (Google Play Billing + Firebase)

If you purchase the Pro upgrade, Google Play processes your payment. We receive a purchase token from Google to verify your purchase. Your payment details are handled entirely by Google — we never see them. We store your Pro status (isPro: true/false) in Firebase Firestore, associated with your anonymous Firebase UID.

g) Advertising (AdMob — free users only)

Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). AdMob may collect your advertising ID and use it for personalised ads, subject to your consent (collected via the Google UMP consent dialog on first launch). Pro users see no ads and AdMob is not initialised for Pro users.

h) Map tiles (TomTom)

We use TomTom's map tile service to display map previews. TomTom may log tile requests including your IP address.

3. Data we do NOT collect

• Your name or email (unless you sign in with Google)
• Your photos or photo content
• Your contacts, messages, or other apps' data
• Your precise location history (location used only at moment of capture)

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your data to any third party. Data is shared only with the service providers listed in Section 2 (Google Firebase, Google AdMob, TomTom) and only as described above.

5. Data retention

• Crash reports: retained by Firebase for 90 days
• Analytics: retained by Firebase for 14 months
• Pro status (Firestore): retained until you request deletion
• Your photos: stored locally on your device — we have no access

6. Your rights (GDPR – EEA and UK users)

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Revoke advertising consent (tap "Manage privacy settings" in the app's Settings)
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

7. Children

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update the "Last updated" date when this policy changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
